"Saturday, November 16th found our brewers in Chicago to pour and compete at the 11th annual Festival of Wood and Barrel Aged Beer. Emerging from a field of 16, our Bourbon Barrel Aged 1100 Wheatwine took 2nd Place in the Barleywine/ Wheatwine category. The 1100 Wheatwine is a wine-strength wheat ale that has been aged 2 years for flavor development. This was aged in fresh Woodford Reserve Bourbon barrels, making for a strong wheat flavor with tangy character and a huge vanilla stand out. The only brew to edge us out for the top spot was the Cockeyed Cooper from Uinta Brewing in Salt Lake City, Utah. We very much look forward to future festivals!"
