The Rathskeller

Capacity: 60 (Cocktail seating only)

Located underground beneath Duluth's original 1889 City Hall building, The Rathskeller was once a holding cell for the municipal court one floor above and it also served as a coal furnace room during the building's time as the center of city government from 1889-1926. Rumors abound that the space was once used as a speakeasy during prohibition and patrons have reported ghostly sightings inside the bar.

Known today as one of Minnesota's top whiskey bars, The Rathskeller offers an amazing selection of craft cocktails, smoked whiskey, wine, and craft beers from Fitger's Brewhouse. This one-of-a-kind event venue includes a full service bar, PA system, and projector/screen for sharing photos/videos. The beautiful carved natural bluestone interior and rich history makes this a sophisticated and provocative space for events, including bachelor/ette parties, holiday/corporate parties, networking events, and other gatherings for groups of up to 60. Partnered with Fitger's Brewhouse, we also offer options for appetizers and hors d'oeuvres that will add flair to your special occasion.
